About This Sparks Tool

Recreate the look of a welding torch or angle grinder with a dedicated spark simulation that models gravity-affected arcs, trail fragmentation, and thermal color gradients. Dial in the emission direction for a realistic upward spray, enable dust particles for ambient atmosphere, and use the heat control to shift sparks from deep red to blinding yellow-white. The overlay exports as a transparent PNG you can composite over industrial footage, promotional photography, or any scene that needs high-energy metalwork visuals.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Spark Generator can produce welding sparks, grinder sparks, impact sparks, and pyrotechnic shower effects. Adjust the amount, spread, length, gravity, and chaos parameters to match different real-world spark scenarios from delicate metalwork to explosive impacts.

Yes. The Direction slider sets the primary emission angle in degrees (0-360), and the Emit Width control determines how wide the spray cone is. Combined with the Spread parameter, you can create anything from a tight focused jet to a wide fountain of sparks.

Embers are additional floating hot particles that appear alongside the main spark trails. They have independent controls for count, size, thickness, drift, and heat color. Embers add realism by simulating the smaller glowing fragments that linger in the air after the main sparks have traveled.

Yes. Set Background to "Transparent" in the Output section. The exported PNG will have only the glowing sparks and embers visible on a fully transparent background, ready to composite over footage or photographs in any editing application.

Spark effects can be exported at 720p, 1080p, 1440p, or 4K (3840x2160). Higher resolutions capture finer detail in the spark trails and glow effects. For compositing over HD or 4K footage, matching the export resolution to your project resolution produces the best results.

The Heat parameter controls the color temperature of the sparks along a thermal gradient. Lower values produce cooler, redder sparks like iron being worked at lower temperatures. Higher values shift toward bright orange and yellow-white, simulating extremely hot metal such as steel grinding or welding.

Yes. Every spark position, trajectory, and ember placement is determined by the seed value. Note down or copy the seed number along with your parameter settings, and you can regenerate the exact same spark effect at any time or on any device.

For welding sparks, set Direction to around 90 degrees (upward), use moderate Spread (0.5-0.7), high Heat (0.7-0.9), and enable Dust for ambient glow particles. Keep Gravity at 0.2-0.4 for natural arcing trajectories, and set Breaks to 0.2-0.4 for realistic trail fragmentation.
